Adult Children & Kids of families with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD or ERD)

KOBPD Family Studies —
Non-professional information exchange for KOBs — Adult-Children-Of- and Kids-Of-Borderline families. Working to increase understanding of the long-term impacts on loved ones of Borderline Personality Disorder — BPD or ERD (Emotional Regulation Disorder) — and similar traits of mental illness in the home. You do not need a professional diagnosis to benefit from the links on these pages.  If you suspect that a loved one, or even yourself, may suffer from a personality disorder, this website can help point you to sources of up-to-date quality information.  Medical research has led to important new discoveries and treatments (like DBT) in just the past couple of years (see Kobies PDFs page) and some Borderline families, with help, are starting to live normal, serene and much happier lives.  If you need urgent support, please join the WTO groups on Yahoo, the ATSTP group on Google, or the Facing the Facts message boards on www.BPDFamily.com.  If you are having suicidal thoughts, there are people who want to help you right now.  Please dial them toll-free (in the US) 1 (800) SUICIDE or 1 (800) 273-TALK — immediately:  The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or search the web for "suicide support".

About us & disclaimer

Kobies.org  is a volunteer non-professional group hoping to inform and expand the BPD community dialog, both inside & outside.  Our members have diverse experiences and interests in BPD homes, particularly the present and long-term impacts of Borderline Personality Disorder on children.  We recognize that everyone's situation is unique and that no one theory or solution fits all.  If you are looking for help with your BP family, even if you are curious or in doubt, we recommend you look into the WTO groups on Yahoo (Welcome To Oz) or the ATSTP group on Google (Anything To Stop The Pain).  As for other groups, links, references and providers mentioned on these pages, unfortunately, you are on your own.  Please use this information with an open mind, an open heart and at your own risk.  If you would like to help maintain this website and add your own links and articles onto these pages, you are welcome to join our discussion group on Google and become a Ko-editor!  Contact us: Richard at Kobies dot org.
